Third
division league leaders of the Walsall Junior under 12's league, Shire Oak Hawks
continued their impressive start to the season with an emphatic 9-0 win away
to Leamore Park Rangers. However, it was the home side who threatened to take
the lead as they mounted attack after attack in the opening ten minutes. Hawks
weathered the storm and gradually settled into the game before delivering three
killer blows to lead 3-0 at the break with goals from Ryan Roberts 2, and Reuben
Uppal. The second half saw Hawks step it up as they obliterated the opposition.
Lethal striker, Roberts bagged another three goals with some clinical finishing
as star midfielder, Reuben carved open the Rangers defence with his range of
passing. Further goals from Reuben himself, Matt Brisbourne and a stunning 30
yard drive from Sam Walter completed the rout as Hawks refused to show any remorse
and could have easily added to the tally. Rangers looked shell-shocked at the
end as they left the field but were very sporting and gracious in defeat.
